A tool for streamlining projects and prototyping for designers:
Fritzing is an open-source initiative to support designers, artists, researchers and hobbyists to take the step from physical prototyping to actual product. We are creating this software in the spirit of Processing and Arduino, developing a tool that allows users to document their Arduino and other electronic-based prototypes, and to create a PCB layout for manufacturing. The complementing website helps users to share and discuss drafts and experiences as well as to reduce manufacturing costs.
Fritzing is essentially an Electronic Design Automation software with a low entry barrier, suited for the needs of designers and artists. It uses the metaphor of the breadboard, so that it is easy to transfer your hardware sketch to the software.Fritzing features and highlights:
Fritzing is licensed as Freeware for Windows (32-bit and 64-bit) operating system / platform from miscellaneous software without restrictions. Fritzing 0.9.3b is available to all software users as a free download (Freeware).
Compatibility with this electronic automation designer software may vary, but will generally run fine under Microsoft Windows 10, 8, 8.1, 7, Vista and XP on either a 32-bit or 64-bit setup. A separate x64 version may be available from University of Applied Sciences Potsdam.
